THE BRIDGE OVER THE RIVER K.................
Kent NOT Kwai!!!!
Day 48 of my own personal Lockdown - I'm now going quite gaga, but then I was half way there anyway!!!!
Slept in late this morning, I didn't get up until 8.40!!!!!! Partly because I've had several not great nights lately. Last night was OK sleepwise, except I was up for a couple of hours, hence the lie in - that felt so late for us, but then we're not going anywhere so it doesn't really matter, I guess.
Just general pottering this morning. Then after lunch Hubby and I went for a walk, which we haven't done for a while. Just around the block really.
We met two friends who live down the road so chatted to them from a safe distance. Went into the grounds of what used to be The Abbott Hall Hotel, which then became the Lambert Hotel (a lot of controversy about that and fraud claims etc). We had a shower whilst there so we took shelter under under a part of the hotel that has a sort of hall/bridge going from one area to the next, so no need to touch anything. Saw a squirrel whilst there, but a grey one so didn't photograph it. I prefer the red squirrels which are our indigenous species in the UK.
The location of the hotel is still lovely and although the coffee house and hotel wasn't the greatest it's location was good. The grounds, used to be kept well it is sad to see it with weeds growing up through the flower beds and being generally uncared for. It's really going to go to seed if something isn't done with it soon. I hate to see these places just neglected. See an extra for the footpath we take through the grounds, which was always lovely, but is now just hanging on. It's strange because the path that you can see leads to a gate almost next to Kents Bank station but they've locked that - but the main entrance and the rest of the grounds are just left open.
We then went onto the Barrow side of the station, checked on Hubby's shed and his handywork is still looking good, the onto the foreshore, then just back up Kentsford Road home.
The main photo is what you can see half way up the hill. It shows Arnside Viaduct to the left with, I think, St Anthony's Tower in Milnthorpe just visible above it and Arnside and it's lovely little pier to the far right. Home of Gladders and Knottman2. I did duly wave to them!!!!??

Hope you are all well and staying safe as usual. Do take great care and please don't get complacent the virus is still here. It is getting hard to stay in lockdown, especially away from our loved ones but I alway have to remind myself what the alternative could be, it's just not worth risking anything for them as well as the general public.
See you all tomorrow. Sending lots of love and positive thoughts.
