Soup.

Had lots of bits of veg lurking in the bottom of my fridge and veg basket so decided it was a soup day. So ---- went into the garden to see if there was anything edible and this was about it. A few thin leeks and a small celeriac. The soup tasted fine and there are more leeks and small celeriacs still to harvest.
I was waiting for the sun to come out but it is still grey.
The 60th anniversary of the east coast floods is on the night of January 31st and February 1st when 42 people in Sutton on Sea and Mablethorpe lost their lives. It is still a vivid memory for many people on this coast and there was a ceremony in Mablethorpe today dedicating a memorial to those who lost their lives. In the Uk 307 people died but in Holland 1836 people lost their lives. Never underestimate the power of the sea!
