Tools arrived yesterday to remove the freewheel cassette.  So, I swapped out the cassette "as assembled" with a proper cassette.  What a world of difference!  Shifts are click-slam fast and precise.

Today I rode the final leg of the Milano-San Remo, which has two small climbs - about 500 meters total over the course of the ride, 28 kms.

Wow, what a great workout.  (New trainer is still noisy, but I am riding until it gets resolved.)
