French Lavender and Wall-Flowers

The rain has given way to a brisk wind that is lifting the petals and seeds from the Lilac and Laburnum trees just beyond our back garden. 

The purple and yellow fell about us as we sipped tea beside the koi pond, and we reminisced about confetti and how long ago that was (even though I recall we didn't have confetti at our wedding...).

In the small front garden the French Lavender catches the Sun with a vibrant display of wallflowers behind. And in the border, the first poppy begins to emerge...

No insects about in this change of weather, with which to take comparative shots before this lens finds a new home...
