Escaping
Our friend, I, has his own butcher business where he goes to Smithfield market early morning and delivers to restaurants/ pubs and personal deliveries too (Mr C has covered his business several times when they have been on holiday). Due to the current climate, he is only working 2 days a week to continue with personal orders. We often stock up our freezer with his meat and both boys wanted to place an order too.
Lots of meat delivered first thing, Josh was coming over to collect both his and Sim’s (Sim was at work) but his car wouldn’t start (he was gutted as Josh can’t sit still for 2 minutes and was looking forward to the drive). So Mr C and I donned our ‘key workers’ hat and safely delivered their essential food. The first time I’ve been out out since I finished work on 12th March.
The forecast was right and it poured down all day and was significantly cooler at only 9 degrees with lots of surface water on the roads, which were pretty clear. This blip was taken through the car window, travelling at about 60 mph, along the Hogs Back.
I didn’t get out of the car at all but it was nice to escape for a couple of hours and talk to Josh & Natalie albeit briefly.
Take care x
