Moreton Bay fig

This Moreton Bay fig tree, located in the grounds of St Stephen's Anglican Church and cemetery in Newtown, was planted in 1848. The Cemetery Lodge in the background was also completed in that year.

This magnificent tree is a whopper. Various barriers make it difficult to photograph the whole tree from a good angle but I don't mind. I am more fascinated by its roots than its branches.
