Rocks

We’ve just got some drizzly rain but most of the day has been cool and dull as expected. We headed to Cottingley Woods which was a good choice as there was some shelter from the cool wind.
I wanted to find the path that took in the huge crags/rocks on which the Folly is built and we did today. The woods are a plantation and therefore not very attractive in them selves.  Limited wildlife, no bluebells and not much fresh green in the canopy but the rocks are impressive!
Think we may have seen enough of these paths now!

The path climbed to join the main route through the trees so we decided to complete the ‘Cottingley Woods’ walk through the fields and eventually into Lee Lane and home. Always tricky deciding when to turn off the track, it’s further than you think and we did turn off too soon but it did eventually take us to the right stile. Saw a few people but no one we knew so no chats along the way today.

A bit of singing tonight with ATN and hoping to watch the second half of the National Theatre’s ‘Twelfth Night’.  I really enjoyed Tamsin Grieg’s performance in the first half but all these productions are so long I decided to stop half way last night. Frankenstein with Benedict Cumberpatch is looking interesting from Thursday night.
Stay safe everyone.
