(Another) Road to Nowhere
Since the lockdown began, I have discovered an amazing number of lanes and backroads in and around Liverpool, thanks to the incredible knowledge of my guide and her trusted Garmin bike computer. Today was a good example- a round trip of about 35 miles. Up to the "loop line " - a Sustrans cycleway made from an old railway line, across Croxteth Park to Knowsley Village, skirting around Knowsley Park (private) and on this amazing 4 mile long lane across Lancashire Moss fields, where we saw no-one but enjoyed the company of swallows, lapwing and oystercatchers, and back to the loop line via Bickerstaff and Melling.
