Level 3
Today NZ went to Level 3 of the plan to respond to Covid-19. It means that some restrictions have been lifted. If people can work from home, they must and if parents can keep their children at home they can- otherwise those children under 14 can go to school.
It also means that businesses can open who can offer “contactless service”. e.g. our local hardware store Mitre 10 was open- but we couldn’t go in and wonder around. We booked and paid for what we wanted on-line, and were given a time to pick up our goods. When we arrived (extra), there was a queue of cars- but it was very well organised. We had to stay in our cars , and our order was brought to us. Certainly helped the staff that it is a sunny day!
I do hope NZers will still be very, very careful- we have done so well, so don’t want numbers to soar if we get too complacent.
We will stay at this level for at least 2 weeks, and it will be reviewed.
It was a real treat to DRIVE a few kilometres and go for a walk. The rabbits were obviously having a great time while we were in lock down , as there were so many!!
Autumn leaves and toadstools still flourish (main), whatever is going on in society.
