He's a big boy now...

So the good news from yesterday, after the dramatic and sad start to the day, is that Harris is now free to go outside without his harness. He's not quite worked out the cat flap (after we programmed his chip into it), so for the time being the back door is being left open a little. He's mainly stayed to our garden so far, and is making sport of hunting flies and the chickens, then running back into the house, almost as if to check we're still there. He's like a little kid with a new toy. 

And of course when we shut him back in at 6 (if he figures out the cat flap he can come and go as he pleases till dusk, which is when we get Isla in), he flaked out completed and hardly stirred till after 11. All a bit much for the wee man.
