A Passion for Life

Taking a few hours out from my weekend of worship in Edinburgh, I hopped on a train and met my dad at the Scottish National Gallery. I took one of my daughters with me. The three generations, each of us very much the artist of our respective families, admiring together the life and work of one of Scotland's greatest painters: John Bellany.

The exhibition, entitled "A Passion for Life" comprised work from every period of the artist's 50-year career, right up to the present. My dad's inside knowledge of Bellany's story (he was at Edinburgh College of Art around the same time) made for a superb guided tour of the exhibition. All the more special to share the experience with both father and daughter.
