Squabmoor reservoir
A day of mixed weather a bit cloudy but with a few brief sunny spells. We all went off for a late morning walk heading towards the commons for a change. We had planned on going to Bystock Ponds and took a route along Squabmoor Reservoir a popular fishing place but this is not currently permitted. We spotted a Mallard with young ducklings, a couple of Geese and a Coot but not many other birds. On arrival at Bystock Ponds we could hear children around and decided the paths were too narrow to maintain the appropriate social distancing so we headed back up onto the common where we ate our lunch before heading back home via various footpaths and lanes.
This afternoon I potted on the tomato plants having to rescue some more plants pots from the bag of waste we were taking to the tip before it was closed. I'm not quite sure how I will manage hardening off all these seedlings, beans that are growing so tall, courgettes, onions, leeks and chard, as our garden is not very sheltered.
