In search of swimming spots

Heard there was a old quarry with a lake on Undermillbeck Common and thought it might be deep enough for swimming. It did not look inviting . This is looking down into the quarry , you could access from the otherside but I will leave it for dogs. Checked out four more nearby tarns on the map but none were deep enough although it has been dry for about 6 weeks.  Note the blue sky has gone. I wonder if we'll have rain?

Day 38 
413 hospital deaths since yesterday up to 20,732 but it's Sunday when reports are low.  No relaxation of measures announced  but Boris will be back at the helm tomorrow.  Today would have been the London Marathon.  Lots are performing alternative stunts to help the charities that are losing so much money. One example is the 2.6 challenge instead of running 26 miles . I have one friend doing 2.6 hours of pilates to raise money for a local hospice.  Son R had a place in the Marathon but has gone on a run to visit or cross all the golf courses within the Edinburgh Ring Road.  I'll find out how far that is later, I think is more than Marathon would have been.
