Advanced Walking Stick Techniques #1
I read a tweet this morning about somebody with a walking stick pointing at something with their hand, obviously, it said, their first day using it. So I have spent some time today training mrsfb in the art of stick pointing.
I took my telephoto lens with me again on our walk to the lake, hoping to see a red kite which we had spotted earlier, or at least the white doves that we see every time we go there. Apart from today that is. Mrsfb is pointing to where they can usually be seen.
We did have a chat with a farmer/land manager today. I was worried in case he was approaching us to ask why we were walking across his fields, but he was actually very friendly. He showed us some wild rhubarb which he had been collecting. He didn't offer us any, and I guess we would have refused anyway.
In other news it is exactly a year since we started our 5:2 diet. It has been hard at times but I have now reached my target BMI. I've lost 12kgs, just shy of 2 stones. My next question is how do I maintain it. I don't want to lose any more weight, but if I stop the diet I guess I could pile it on again. Maybe I can do an occasional fast day to keep things in check.
