Side by side
Everyone was out trudging through the snow this morning, including us! A long cold trek out to the 10th Arrondissement to find Helmut Newcake, an amazing gluten-free bakery. Delicious eclairs, a pistachio and cranberry tartlet and a white chocolate tart that rocked my world! While saving them for the train, we found another round of treats on the way home with a pistachio cream-filled giant macaron, stuffed with strawberries and a tangy lemon tart to settle Alice's craving!
A long, cold wait at the train station was made much cheerier by the sweet treats in our bags. We were really lucky and got pretty much the last train bound for Brussels as the intense snow threw the entire Northern European rail network into sheer chaos! We were cold and tired and many hours late by the time we made it home, but I think we were better off on the train than those stuck at airports. And Paris was 100% worth every chilly moment!
