Half birthday

In lockdown, every little helps in terms of ways to cheer the days up... so we celebrated her half birthday today with a bakery cornflake cake complete with candles. 

She also had her first virtual clarinet lesson, a bassoon lesson, a socially distanced window visit for some not-contact with B and to do some bassoon repairing collaboratively and another bassoon lesson! In the second lesson, when they'd finished the proper business of the lesson, Katie requested that they be allowed to put the silly filters on and "play their bassoons as dragons". it made the both of them laugh a lot.  

School work happened at various points around all that. The state-sanctioned exercise was in fact fabulous. We are working hard to run hard for much of our time out. And a lot of the places she picks for us to run are up and down substantial hills/banks.
