White Heron, The Canal du Midi, Castelnau, France

The day started all misty - see, just like that on the photo - then it became a beautiful sunny day, and is set to stay that way for a while *punches air*.

I've been seeing a lot of these white herons just recently ... maybe they were always there, so maybe I'm just starting to notice them.

At first I thought they were egrets ... but no, they are definitely herons.
