To the West of my plot is a long line of tall, mature beech trees that suck all of the light and moisture away from crops and so I have given the area over to raspberries and nature. 

I built three log piles in the hopes they might attract some new residents.  So I was delighted to find this wee soul using the logs as an adventure playground this afternoon.  

They seemed entirely at home and in no hurry to leave.  I guess I better put up some signs saying mice are not allowed to eat the garden peas soon!
