Bothy by Fishers Crag, Thirlmere

We added to our tally of "Birkett's" today with another walk around the back of Thirlmere. We managed:

High Tove
Middle Crag
Shivery Knott
Watendlath Fell
Armboth Fell (Birkett top)
Fisher Crag

Only High Tove was a Wainwright, so 4 new Birkett's today.

The gorgeous Bothy was on the way back down to Thirlmere after Fisher Crag. Set in the trees with the Lake to the right of the photo. The smell of wood smoke inside it was pretty strong. What a great sanctuary on a cold Winter's night. We even saw some deer on the way down to the lake edge.

Certainly a quiet walk:
