Kayak and hike
Here in WA we are being encouraged to exercise from home, not to make trips to the coast and stuff like that.
In that spirit, I planned a kayak trip from home with my friend (we stayed socially distanced). I carried my sea kayak the roughly 800m to the South Perth foreshore. We put in and then kayaked from the CBD 12 km up river, and 12 km back. It's crazy that you can do this sort of thing in Perth. When we stopped on an island marsh for lunch, we could well have been 1000km from a city, surrounded by mangrove-like trees.
There is a whitewater kayaking spot about 45km upriver, we have the idea to kayak there from home, towing playboats, camping, and returning on the 2nd or third day. We need to wait for rains for this though.
After getting home and eating a bit, I decided to catch the sunset from a local hill. (Had to drive there but still within restrictions) it was pretty stunning but I did get covered in ants every step on the hike up.
In other news, I'm just enjoying having no responsibilities other than keeping fit, sleeping well and eating well.
