Two on a Tower

Today was much the same as the last few - bit of design work in the morning, sitting on the deck with a cuppa after lunch, walk after that, garden work before dinner. What was different about today was the cloud!  Rather strange clouds! 

We walked up to the Hydro to get a good view of the sky over the town, but there were a couple of bare-topped guys up at the viewpoint, shouting in an unknown tongue, drinking lager and spitting on the grass. We didn't stay, even tho' I'd have liked to see what they did with their cans, but went up to McCaig's Tower on the way home. Beautiful view as ever.

I'd arranged to have a chat with a lady who had recently got the job as Head Gardener at Achamore, on the Isle of Gigha. I'd previously suggested to the committee which now runs the island that it would be better to find someone with real enthusiasm, even tho' they hadn't got the experience or knowledge.  This they had done and the new HG reminded me of me taking up my first HG's job - desperate for knowledge. Achamore is a very famous west coast garden, created by Sir James Horlick, but sadly neglected since the residents' buy-out some years ago. The future looks a lot better now.

My extra today is the beautiful Primula 'Dark Rosaleen'.
