Great Weather for Cycling (Widwed220420)
Today's theme for Wide Wednesday is weather and it was certainly good weather for cycling. Perhaps not so good for photography with the brightness and harsh shadows - but that would be just whinging :-)
We drove up to Solihull this morning to collect the new battery for the car, hopefully that will be the end of the reluctant to start issues we have had recently. Seriously quiet on the M40 - at one point I could only see two other cars in the mirrors. Come to think of it, we have had other battery issues recently, the sender for Gill's cycle computer needs a new battery and the one in my Canon A-1 failed yesterday evening when we were out for a walk and I wanted to get a few film shots.
With the bright sunshine a bike ride looked to be good for the afternoon, ~31km around a local loop, we hardly saw any cars, just a few delivery people, tractors, and most of the people we have been seeing on our previous cycling trips. This blip is just before we arrived in Oxhill, almost at the high point on our route where we had stopped for a drink and biscuit break. Earth Day too, so a bike ride would be appropriate. If there is any good to come from this awful virus it might just be our appreciation of a quieter cleaner world.
We both decided we would like to get back to ~50km as normal part day ride. Gill is getting a better idea of managing the level of assistance she gets from the motor so we are both arriving home at the same time and in the same state - which was the point of electrifying her bike :-)
Thanks to you all for visiting my journal and to David (Rock Area) for hosting Wide Wednesday this week.
Edit: D'oh! just noticed the smudge on the lens, lower front wheel of Gill's bike.
