A comforting ear

I chose this heartwarming shot of J with Paddy, because as some of you may know, we are a sad family today, having lost our cat in traumatic circumstances. J decided to take her 'best friend' on a walk and to lie in the sun for a while and chat to him about everything. She also took some beautiful selfies of the two of them, which cheered us all up.

I am trying to keep perspective as so many people are going through much worse things at the moment but it hurts that I failed to keep Sox safe, and I will miss him. For the record Tia is a gracious and gentle animal but her instinct to protect is strong and should not have been tested, albeit accidentally. She is very sad too.
