The Great North Road

Living on the intersection of the A1 and A47 it’s interesting to see the drop in traffic. Today I went for a long walk using footpaths that are normally severed by these roads.

And at Waternewton village this splendid milestone sits on a small lane which is the old A1, long bypassed. Saw the egrets again in the fields by the river here, maybe they are nesting?
