Peak Bluebell
I read somewhere that Sussex is the most densely wooded county in England which I can well believe. Now that I can't reach the South Downs my walks are all in the Low Weald which is certainly very wooded and, at the moment, almost all those woods are filled with bluebells. I think we are probably at,or very near to, peak bluebell time this week.
Despite the cold wind the butterfly numbers were decent today: Orange Tip, Green-veined White, Red Admiral, Large White, Brimstone, Holly Blue and Speckled Wood.
