Pussy Willow

I hadn't taken a walk for a few days so we pottered down to the Braid Burn Park, ostensibly to blip the last of the Comiston Springs pipe markers, the last visible link above ground. As are the others actually in the park these are modern, moulded in concrete  but serve the same purpose of indicating the route of the Sweet Waters of Comiston from the cistern to the reservoir at Castlehill.

However, the signs of Spring blossom emerging on the trees put the markers, as a collage of both views, into third place as second extra. First extra is new blossom on the crab-apple at the south end of the park and pink cherry with a background of white cherry.

Main photo is one of the many willow trees by the burn, with bokeh of  butterburr below and daffodils on the opposite bank.

On the way past the houses we stopped for a chat with a neighbour known since college and, briefly, as a colleague, comparing our self-isolations - she is far more productive than I but gave me a few ideas.
Later S brought round a bag of shopping - we didn't need much - and took a couple of books to educationally entertain the Flumlet, no use sitting on them here when he could be enjoying them.
