The money man

We started the first day of a 5 day meeting here in Addis Ababa. Bhavesh, the regional finance guy, is my first non-family member portrait. I was rather chuffed with the outcome. He 'hesitantly' gave me permission to use it for Blip.

And so I now seek patience and wisdom as we go through the next 4 days trying to generate programme ideas for a multi-year and multi-country initiative. The programming will focus on children and their families and will support families in an effort to prevent them from disintegrating and creating orphans. It is a huge challenge. But if done well, it will be well worth it.

But now it is time for bed. Let me try to take more shots outside tomorrow. Today there were numerous dignitaries passing through our road on the way to the African Union meeting. Our meeting room was on the 5th floor of a hotel and there were armed guards on the balcony watching the street. A bit disconcerting.
