Mr and Mrs
Jonathan, my rescue gull from a few years back, is nesting on the flat roof the other side of my garden wall for the second year running. Until today he has stayed out of the garden: which is a relief as I don't really want to share my space with a fully grown herring gull. Today, however, he was on his favourite spot: the bird bath. Mrs J was much more reserved last year and stayed on the garden wall watching hubby. But, to my surprise, she joined him on the bird bath this morning. Sadly I didn't grab my camera quickly enough. However, I did manage to get them separately later. What it demonstrates (apart from the fact that my windows need cleaning) is that Jonathan (top) is bigger and heavier than his wife and they have different feather markings.
At least they'll provide me with some entertainment as the great tits decided to turn up their beaks at my nest box.
