Rhodo in a pot

Our amazing rhododendron has survived in a pot for about twenty years. We were given the plant in 1992 and must have repotted it a few years later. Now it is firmly established in a huge IKEA pot and there is no way it could be budged. Until this year it has always put on an astonishing display of flowers, and always features in my blip journal, but this year there are just a few flower buds showing. Either I didn’t water it enough last year, or maybe it has decided it has had enough.
Our kind shopping lady brought us a whole leg of lamb! She knows there are just the two of us. We had a lovely Sunday roast dinner today, and afterwards Normous carved it up into portions for the freezer. We got ten meals from it and the freezer looks full again.
