Apple blossom

The colour of apple blossom while still in the bud stage is particularly rich once open the petals are significantly paler.  There is quite a lot of blossom this year, so given a good spell of weather to allow the pollinating insects to fly, we should again have a bumper crop of dessert and cooking apples that should last us from mid summer until late March.
