Mill Lade
A glorious day, sunshine and brilliant blue sky. I dragged TT away from his laptop and we headed out for a long walk, which he turned into an even longer walk! We walked out along the fields and down to the river past here, then along the river to Sandy’s Mill, before heading up to the old A1 briefly and then along farm roads to eventually get to the track that goes along the Garleton Hills. We walked past the Vaults, the farm, then up the track to Barney Hill. The views around East Lothian were amazing, and looking out over the Firth of Forth we spotted the four cruise ships which are 'parked up'. We then joined another track, before heading back into town to join onto our road. It was a good walk and the weather was glorious, although still chilly. We were more than ready for a late lunch of soup. BB had found a snack, but was waiting on his lunch! TT was disappointed to find that his whisky had not been delivered. However his seed tatties and computer stuff had arrived.
TT then had to do some work and I sat out in the garden for a little while with my book, but there was still a real chill in the air, so I didn’t sit out for too long. I retreated into the house to continue with the jigsaw.
We had our home delivery for tea, and it was delicious . A real treat not having to cook, though I did have to do some veg for TT. Later I was weary – too much exercise and fresh air.
This is TT checking out the sluice gate near Sandy’s Mill. The extras are views from our walk.
