A little ray of sunshine

Getting Out

I woke before my alarm this morning giving me time for a short run through Northcliffe Park to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful bird song before heading to work.

It was a very long 13 hours there, where a few weeks ago we felt it was the calm before the storm in a way for us the storm will come when this nightmare is over and we play catch up with all the routine work that is on hold whilst we deal with the current situation.

The trust varies intack of Covid patients between our two main hospitals and it was a non intake day for us, but even across site it was quiet. Hopefully a sign that self isolation and distances are working and that we are past the peak. Hopefully what ever changes the government make to the guidance and rules will not bring numbers back up.

The majority of our work was on the wards today and I take my hat off to all those staff that spend many hours in full PPE, even just our short visits to xray patients makes you very warm uncomfortable.

As is being reported in the news, our A&E numbers are significantly reduced, raising concerns that treatment is not being sought when it should.
