'A Picnic at Badger Creek Weir'
I think we all had a good sleep last night after yesterdays party which makes a nice change in the Rosewarne home.
The weather today was beaut, so we had decided to go for a picnic out to Badgers Creek Weir, a great picnic spot with lots of nice walks, flora and fauna. It was really busy being a public holiday today, but we managed to park the car and find ourselves a picnic table without any fuss.
After the sandwiches had been eaten we took off on one of the lovely walks along the side of the creek and finishing at the weir. There are about 4 different walking tracks that all lead to the same spot depending on how fit you feel. We chose to go on the lyrebird track, which I was really happy that we only saw around half a dozen people walking for the whole trip to the weir. I though that the walks would have been much busier with all of the people in the picnic area. I think this must have been one of the more challenging tracks with lots of ups and downs and steps to navigate.
We were all constantly stopping to take photographs of the beautiful scenery, skinks, the creek and so forth so it took us about and hour or so to complete the track to the weir.
The track becomes very narrow in parts with really lush ferns and mossy branches hanging low across the track that you need to duck under.
I was spoilt for blips again today and had hots of images to choose from, but this one sums up the relaxed feel to the place stopping alongside the small creek.
