Cuckoo, cuckoo......

Due to swapping jobs around on Thursday I had to work for a couple of hours this morning but it was no hardship as it's only 5 minutes away and, whilst there, I heard my first Cuckoo of the year. 

No, the photo is not of the Cuckoo, they are very difficult to spot and an old country name for them was 'ghost bird.'

When I got home I saw the dandelion seed head and, in the background, is Wilfie, my landlords dog, who came to greet me and have a sniff around for rats.

I've also done more in my garden today, the Berberis, which was huge, is now back to a manageable size and is no longer blocking the view.

Tonight's meal was a yummy sweet potato and red pepper curry, one of my favourites!!
