Puff Ball

This is how the beautiful yellow dandelion ends up - and it is very sudden. The field and paths are still studded with the bright yellow flowers and gradually increasing numbers of puff balls but nothing in between. I think the petals drop and leave a seed pod which explodes out into the puff ball, and as I could not see any halfway exploded, it happens at night. It is a surprisingly interesting weed!!
