Water in black bowl

LE MYSTERE DE LA PHOTOGRAPHIE

Black bowl, black bowl, have you any eau?
Oui, mais oui, sir, I for certain know.
Some for the curtains and some for the light
on a rainy day, sir, not too bright.

Black bowl, black bowl, I for certain see
shining in the water, reflecting prettily,
great swaths of curtain, little squares of light,
sheltered by deep shadows, almost as of night.

Black bowl, black bowl, just one doubt I doubt.
Aren't you afraid you'll let the water out?
Tipping as you are, bowl, surely it will pour
over the lip and trickle out the door.

Black bowl c'est moi, et je suis plein de l'eau,
jamais courante. Comme je suis très beau!
Forceful surface tension I hold without a doubt,
so I shall never let the water out.
