Quiz and chair
Last week I ordered an office chair because we only had one and we are now both working from home. The one we already had is also pretty rubbish. Unfortunately the new chair could scarcely be less comfortable and needless to say it's not eligible for returns at the moment. Today we decided the best thing to do would be to dismantle both uncomfortable chairs and build one great chair from the best bits of both. A you tube video promised if you just smashed the base with a mallet the gas lift would come right off... This did not work.
This sounds like it is going to be a disaster, but after the mallet was abandoned and after we sawed some bits off and drilled some new holes it actually worked quite well, and we now have a reasonably functional chair. The other one now has a gas lift that doesn't work, a wobbly back, an oddly short seat, and a "waterfall front" designed to ease pressure on the legs (read: your bum gradually slides off unless you tense all muscles).
Who will have to use this terrible chair, I hear you ask? So we've caved and ordered another one from Ikea. No doubt next week I will be writing about how much I hate it but ho hum. Typical that the moment you need to spend the most time in a chair is the moment you can no longer try before you buy. We do at least have 365 days to take this next one back.
The montage is all my friends as babies for our quiz. They have to guess who is who. Quizzes seem to have taken over, I now take part in several a week! See if you can guess which one is me and or James?
