It was the first cycle ride in the rain for well over four weeks. Unfortunately the weather has taken a real turn for the worst. Cold wet and miserable. Just my luck as I really wanted to get on painting the Bentley now the paint's arrived. Still it was far to nasty to go outside so other than cycling I for the first during time during my imprisonment had a day of rest.
During the morning I began to tidy up my South African notes and transfer them into word this is a laborious job which takes a large amount of time. We also spoke with our friends Margaret and Roy on Skype. Unfortunately her Father died last week and she's not looking forward to the funeral as only three people can attend. She also has the problem of getting to his house in the Lake District for papers etc as the police are stopping people from going there. I'm sure this would be classed as an essential trip.
I also tired to help a friend set up Zoom on his PC. We got so close as I could see him and he could see me and hear me but whatever we did I could not hear him. I'm afraid we had to give up and he decided to use Skype instead.
During the afternoon I watched a clsssic old 1971 film 'the Omega man' starring Charlton Heston who played Dr. Neville a military scientist who developed an antidote to a virus that had destroyed humankind in a biological war and left infected humans as zombie-like creatures while he was tried to survive attacks from them. Quite a topical film considering today's problems.
Later on at 5.30pm we Skyped both Kathy and Jeremy for an online drink and chat.
Another lazy evening ensued watching a catchup of the serial 'Quiz' which we found rather enjoyable.
