Me and My Shadow
Back Blip
After the forecast of a wet day it turned out to be another stunner so spent some more time on gardening chores.
Once again the sparrows have decimated one of my wisterias, stripping all the flower buds in a 48 hour period :-(
At 6pm Jorgie and I decided to repeat last night's walking route, to again enjoy the sunset.
The birds were singing, the pheasants squawking
* ( what do pheasants do?)*
doing their best to startle me as they nosily took off from the hedge as we passed and all the lambs were, for once, quietly eating grass.
The main shows the halfway point on the 6 mile walk from home and as we stopped to watch the sheep, I noticed that our shadows were worth blipping.
Shadows again a little further along the lane, as Jorgie stopped to watch a squirrel - in extras
As I walked back into the village I suddenly heard some loud clanking. Thinking it was a tractor pulling something, I stopped to let it pass.
Then I realised that it was 8pm and the village was out cheering, banging saucepans and clapping for the NHS .
Jorgie and I joined in of course.
What a superstar Captain Tom Moore is. At the time of writing he has raised over 18million pounds. Listening to him this morning as he spoke in a quiet unassuming manner, I have no doubt that a large percentage of the population will add to this amazing total.
I also see that social media are trying to instigate a fly past for his 100th birthday. A fitting tribute to a wonderful man.
Year total 337.6 miles
