Most of the snow was washed away overnight.

I could hardly stand still to take this battered by a bitterly cold high wind.

I used to work with a Rochdale fan who described Oldham Athletic a contradiction of terms i.e. there was nothing athletic about Oldham. He won't have been able to say that today.

What does the FA Cup tell me about football - that the best games to watch are those when at least one team is more interested in winning than not losing.
