Walking The Slag

Groundhog Day 23 of COVID-19 UK lockdown.

Another beautiful sunny day and another walk from home. This was a long pull for a mile up the country lane to the top of the mountain and a walk along the old coal slag from the former Trethomas Colliery, near Caerphilly. They've filmed an episode of Dr Who on it and the size makes it probably one of the biggest in South Wales (UK) The 360 views are just amazing with views of Caerphilly Castle, The English Coast, and the one in the blip photo' of The Brecon Beacons.

The town in the foreground is Blackwood, and the peaks are Corn Ddu, Pen Y fan, and Cribyn.

Oddly, I've never been on top of this supersize slag (or spoil) before and was simply stunned at the amazing views, as was Mrs BB. I'll be returning for sure
