Flexibility

I marvel at how flexible this male Pileated Woodpecker's neck is -- he's looking out over his back, while keeping his feet and belly firmly in place underneath him.

He seemed to enjoy the morning sun, stretching his wing feathers out and doing what seemed to be a bird yoga pose, as seen in the extras.

As for me, by the end of today I will have taken part in three Zoom meetings! The first was the Y's "Senior Stretch and Strength" class at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays. Two instructors co-teach it from their homes, and there's a check-in afterward when we take turns sharing how we're doing.

Right after that, I had a one-on-one meeting with K, my physical therapist. She was in her office, and I was in my kitchen. We went over what I've been doing in recent weeks and K suggested some specific exercises that I should focus on.

And this evening, Whatcom Chorale will have its first Zoom meeting! I'm on the board, which has had several Zoom meetings in the past few weeks, but now the whole ensemble will gather online. There are about 80 members, so it will be interesting to see how many show up!

I think my quiet days are over...
