For the Love of Singing

Like running, singing is a tonic to me. I sing most of the time. If I’m not actually singing, I’m humming or have a refrain of some kind constantly whizzing around in my head. In fact, I’m one of those really annoying people who often has a song lyric to (often tenuously) fit a situation.

The voice box, like any muscle however, can get out of shape if underused & I heard myself the other day & thought I was sounding a little spikey. There’s a fix for that though, and it’s easy- keep singing!

It was a pleasure therefore, this evening, to record an alto line for I’m Still Standing so that the MD of the amateur operatics society that I’m a proud, proud member of, can merge the individual parts (sung by a few of us) into an SATB recording which will hopefully bring a little joy to us all.
