Translucent Common Lime
There's something very special about low light shining through freshly emerged foliage, perhaps because this perfect translucency is so ephemeral. Within a few days this delicacy will be lost, as the leaves toughen up and develop a waxy protective coating.
I spotted these at the end of my walk down to the river, which was somewhat marred by the large number of joggers and cyclists who have suddenly appeared now that the weather's better. Unfortunately, many seem to have a rather lax attitude to social distancing. I can see that I shall have to find some alternative places to exercise, even if this means taking a short car journey to get there.
