Don’t bite my head off

After busy day in allotments planting brassica seed in nursery bed it was a restful evening in my back garden admiring the spring flowers. These Snake Head Fritillary took my eye. They seem to have emerged from the underworld in the last 3 days and are so impatient to impress that some appear to be biting the heads off their neighbours to make room for themselves!!
