A Boxwood Forest........
I have decided to entertain myself by taking this forest bonsai apart give it a good spring root prune, defoliating and then replanting in it's pot.
As you can see the 3 little trees in the forest are wildly overgrown, thick and little sunlight can get into the inner branches for health. What you can't see is the roots in the pot. They have been in there for about 13 months and probably as thick and overgrown as the branches are, above. Healthy, green, thick upper growth generally means a healthy root base.
This project will take a good part of the afternoon. Today's blip is the before picture. Tomorrows blip will be the after photo.
