Rough day

The strong storms that were in the forecast made their way to us about 9:00 am. The winds were from the SE and as strong as any hurricane we have had here on the beach. I took this through the front door because I could not go outside. The wind was blowing through the front of the house.
 We lost most of our front roof shingles. Our neighbors boat blew off the lift and landed up on the beach. Pier boards came off and debris is everywhere. People have been sheltering at home and had been so busy these last weeks weeding and cleaning the beach and yards and within 2 hours all the hard work was gone. I took a short walk this evening and it was a sad sight. We are so much better off then many as no homes were lost, no lives lost just material things. We started clean up when the wind and rain slowed down but the next few days will be busy. Not sure how the island house fared as the power lines were down when we tried to check on it.
