Heather
A shot using a 10 x dioptre lens to reveal the beauty of this common low-growing perennial shrub found widely in Europe and Asia Minor on acidic soils. It is of course closely associated with Scotland where it thrives on peaty barren hills. However it is also thriving currently in my suburban garden!
