No apologies
Blimey, what a contrast to yesterday. From 23c to 11c with a stiff, gusting, biting northerly wind. Overcast too, first thing while I was outside with numb fingers and cold feet applying a coat of paint to the front of the tool shed. It's the only side that will get painted as the other sides are hemmed in by other people's fences and by the shed itself.
We did Joe Wick's first thing, Friday's session where all the exercises were related to the theme of frogs. He was dressed in a frog outfit and sweating profusely inside it. We're the Corporal Jones's of the class, doing the session from the day before.
After a short snooze, we went exploring up on the North Downs, continuing on our mission to seek out or rewalk paths and lanes we've not been on for years. This time we followed a section of the North Downs Way from Coldblow Lane (aptly named today) to Thurnham Castle.
The path undulated just below the top of the North Downs, the hollows of the scarp face coombs provided a sheltered haven for early bluebells. I know I only posted bluebells on Saturday, these begged to be posted today. We're discovering loads of new groves of bluebells which is a good thing as it doesn't seem likely that we'll be able to get to Hucking Woodland Trust for our annual fix.
Before the bluebells came along to steal the show I thought I'd be posting the sheep and lambs in the extra. No social distancing there.
