Bridge over troubled water

These remainders of a railway bridge cross the rivulet Gersprenz at the city border. The railway is not in use anymore, but the owner seems to wait until iron prices go up.
Until some years ago steam trains ran to our village, from the other side and only rarely. The railway station is still there, but no train is coming. Some want to reinstate the connection with the neighbouring city, and if possible even with Darmstadt and Frankfurt. But there are not enough people who want that, the distance is just too short and time saving minimal (actually no time saving but rather the opposite.)
This bridge would not be used even if our village and the close-by city would get connected again. No interest exists in the next village.
